Chris Smith

Chris Smith is a graphic designer, musician, researcher and product development specialist with connections across the design community in Los Angeles. He has contributed to a wide variety of cultural and commercial organizations, including design and communiations projects for Metabolic Studio, Morphosis Architects, Harper Collins Publishers, and Apple Computer among others. SInce 2010, he has worked as a product developer in private industry while continuing to cultivate an interest in the results of architectural thinking and its many public interpretations.

As a musician, he’s best known for forming the group Night Control in 2007, who fused electronic and analog textures with melodic ambience to create pathos-laden soundtracks and collections of “blissed-out hallucinatory outsider noise pop.” He has performed at venues across Los Angeles and abroad.

Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design in 2003 and a Masters of Architecture from Cal Poly Pomona in 2020.
